Later this year, electric vehicle (EV) charging points will be installed in all new homes and offices to facilitate for the intended mass-adoption of EVs. This is as a result of the banning sales of petrol and diesel vehicles by 2030 in the UK. Charging is being made easier, cheaper and far more accessible. Reportedly, 500 plug-in points are being installed every month to promote the elimination of greenhouse gas emissions and the aim is to achieve its target of net zero emissions by 2050. It is understood the Government are investing in research including wireless charging points and pavement charging points for households without off-street parking. The number of public charging stations is expected to rise from 170,000 to 2 million by 2025. Noticeably, increasing individuals are gravitating towards the greener transport alternative as more hybrids and electric cars are seen on the roads. Electric cars are the low-cost option for consumers.
